Doom Patrol

Thursday, July 20th, 2006

My good friend Adam Turner made the front page of Variety today. He’s been hired to write the screenplay for DC’s cult classic Doom Patrol. Could we have a new Warner Bros. franchise here?

Drinks are on you this weekend, Adam.

Leaving Los Feliz

And on my way to SDCC. I’m traveling down I-5 with my boy Jeff Shuter behind the wheel. He’s going 70 mph while simultaneously writing an e-mail on his Treo, smoking a cigarette and sifting through a stack of cd’s. Oh god, now we’re on the car pool lane. This might be my first and last post.

I’ll be blogging live from the San Diego Comic Convention. You can expect my esteemed contributors to be popping up and introducing themselves over the course of the next week. But for now it’s a one man show. You can watch me try to channel my inner Hunter S. Thompson and deliver a maverick comic con report.

I have a solid group of friends rooming with me. Entertainment impresarios. All really good guys – all have my back if I get in a bar fight with a Wookie. That’s really my only goal for the weekend, to not end up blogging live from jail.

More to follow.
