Death Note Fans - Movie Trailer

Death_Note_Movie.jpg

Not sure if this was posted up here yet, but the trailer for the movie adaptation of Tsugumi Ohba’s, “Death Note” is up on Youtube. According to Wikipedia there are 2 movie adaptations out. “Death Note” which premiered in Japan in July 2006, and “Death Note:The Last Name” which primiered in November 2006. The release dates for the US DVD’s have not been announced yet (if anyone has that piece of info, please do tell). The film looks great, although I’m not sold on the CGI Shinigami — could be the low res trailer.

I think the first place that posted the poster and film website was Twitch Film. A great site, that lists all the up and coming genre films from around the globe. Definitely worth a look.

I don’t know if anyone in the U.S. has picked up the rights to release Death Note here yet, but so far there is no legit release in any other country either. I just checked yesterday with our distributor in Japan and they didn’t have a release date for the DVD.

Thanks for the info Sensei Rick. BTW if I’m gonna mention Twitch I gotta mention our boy over at Drunken Master Video (located in the heart of the Meltdown Store). Rick is the man when it comes to the latest and greatest in hard to find, kick ass movies.

The best part is once he knows your tastes, he keeps you posted on up and coming joints that you like (he’ll even tell you if a movie you’re about to buy isn’t good! That’s right, no more going home, throwing it in the DVD player and getting pissed off ’cause it sucks). Never had a bad purchase from my boy. So check out his store or online:

And no, I don’t work for him - i just appreaciate his honesty.
