Customer of the Month (Feb): Trane
Welcome to the first of our new Customer of the Month features. This month we highlight Trane Amaro, buyer of many comics and Heroclix and a regular Meltdown Wednesday fixture. It’s always a pleasure to see Trane roll through the doors carryiong his Starbucks and prepared bags and boards, ready to get down to business. Now we get down to a little business of our own. Interview business:
Trane, tell us a little bit about what you collect? What are the primary publishers and titles that make up your stack every week?
Pretty eclectic. Ranges between all publishers. I enjoy good storytelling (single issues as well as multi-parters) and dynamic art (I do have faves but am always looking for new talent). I’m always open for new hooks, angles, and great reads.
How long have you been shopping at Meltdown? What’s been your favorite regime over the years?
Shit, about 5 years now. Of course, the current regime, duh!
If you had one super power to choose what would it be?
Cosmic-presence (is that a super power?). I would be aware of everything, everywhere; Basically a God!
If you were a superhero what kind of costume would you wear? (ex: Spandex and cape, body armor, jeans and t-shirt, trench coat.)
I would have no body, so no costume. I would just float around space and touch everything (eww!), soaking in knowledge (that’s gross, don’t print that).
What’s the best movie you’ve seen recently?
The Descent.
Trane, Whose side are you on?
Anti-Registration – Pro Trane (yeaahhh!)
If you were forced to collect only one comic, what would it be?
hmmm…
Who’s your favorite super-hero and why?
uh…
Let’s look to the future of comics. Where do you see the comic industry in five years?
$4.50 per comic, card stock covers, more top-tier writers & artists, more movie tie-ins and more games from comics.
You come in hopped up on Starbucks every week. What’s your drink of choice?
It’s a Venti Iced Café Americano. Room for milk. Just a squirt. It’s excellent.
