Come on out to Meltdown on Sunset on Saturday, February 24 for a pencilling workshop and portfolio review session with Stephen Platt.
Stephen is a professional concept and comic book artist who has been working in the industry for thirteen years. He has worked for DC, Marvel and Image Comics on top-selling books such as Moon Knight, Cable and Wolverine as well as his creator-owned title Soul Saga. Stephen has continued to expand his artistic horizons working in the film industry as a conceptual artist and artistic director, earning credits on Blade III, Torque, The Fog, John Carter of Mars, Neuromancer, Outlander and the highly anticipated Iron Man from director Jon Favreau.
From 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Stephen will be covering topics of interest to budding artists and accomplished professionals alike including thumbnails and composition, lightbox and enlargement techniques, rendering musculature, foreshortening, indicating textures, and various industry practices all of which are covered in great detail in his new DVD from the Gnomon Workshop.
