JOHNNY DELGADO IS DEAD:As children, Johnny Delgado & Victor Reyes grew up in a rough Phoenix neighborhood, where they were reared on corridos about the legendary vigilante heroes of the old west who stood up for the powerless against the corrupt and the heartless. One ballad, in particular, was oft repeated to the boys. The corrido spoke of the unbreakable bonds of brotherhood and two becoming one.

Johnny, now an adult, has returned to Phoenix as a U.S. Attorney, resolved to clean up the streets he grew up on by organizing a task force to take down the trans-Sonoran drug trade. When Johnny learns that a mob boss he had put behind bars, Red Travis, has cut a deal and is back on the streets looking for revenge, he reaches out for help to Victor, now the leader of a small Special Forces team on the ground in Afghanistan.

A world away, Victor’s unit comes under heavy fire and he is presumed dead. Still listed as K.I.A. (killed in action) when he makes his way to Kabul, Victor uses Johnny’s passport to get back to the States in the hope of protecting his friend.

Upon arrival, Victor is devastated to learn that he is too late. Determined to bring Johnny’s killer to justice, Victor takes on his late friend’s identity and emerges as an avenging vigilante. And true to the legend of the ballad, he makes it his life’s mission to protect all those who are disfranchised. Roaming the highways as a man who no longer exists, Johnny Delgado is out for justice…
