COMEDY MELTDOWN.
Very often, when you tell someone that you work in comics (publishing) they think you mean comics (stand-up.)
Rather than emphatically draw a distinction, Meltdown has decided to blur the line betwixt the two by bringing the stand-up comics into our den of iniquity. On Saturday, December 8, with the gracious assistance of the lovely Linda Pine, Meltdown is proud to present AT NO COST TO YOU the following humorous humans in our not-quite-large-enough-for-this-event Gallery:
Hard ‘N Phirm! For those who haven’t spent the past three years drunk and amused at Largo and UCB, that’s Chris Hardwick and Mike Phirman, the comedy duo-a-go-go that you’ve seen on SuperDeluxe, Comedy Central, Jimmy Kimmel and blocking the aisles at Amoeba.
Chip Pope! Chip is more tough and fair than hard and firm, but he still brings outsize laughs and a hatful of hate for the yacht rockers. We will forgive his attending UT and welcome him warmly.
Michelle Biloon! One of those genius comedians that hid out in Austin until TEXAS COULD NO LONGER CONTAIN HER. You may have seen her on Premium Blend or at one of a hundred local shows where she was very funny and other people were not.
Blaine Capatch! So many inappropriate rhymes suggest themselves here, but we’ll just say that Blaine is the next comedian who will capture your imagination so completely that he will become your only fantasy subject for months after seeing him perform live.
COMEDY MELTDOWN is hosted by ever-convivial Fred Belford and begins at 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 8, 2007 in the Meltdown Gallery at 7522 W Sunset Blvd in the City of Los Angeles.
As space is limited, we recommend that you make reservations for this FREE SHOW by emailing RSVP@meltcomics.com prior to December 4. 18 and over please.
