Spielberg To Make Live-Action Ghost In The Shell

Variety reported yesterday that Dreamworks has acquired the rights to Masamune Shirow’s classic manga "Ghost In The Shell", with plans to make a live-action 3D feature film.  Steven Spielberg, said to be a long-time fan of the story, was apparently instrumental in ensuring Dreamworks won out.  Comic fans will notice another name in the producer’s credits: Avi Arad, formerly of Marvel Studios, who produced the Spider-Man, X-Men, Fantastic Four amongst others during his time with the House Of Ideas.
