Tyrese Gibson, star of the upcoming TRANSFORMERS 2: REVENGE OF THE FALLEN, paid a surprise visit to the offices of Diamond Distribution in Torrance this afternoon. Tyrese is releasing a comic book called MAYHEM coming out through Image Comics on August 5, 2009, and he has been doing everything to immerse himself into the different levels of the comic book industry. His mission at Diamond was to meet the people behind the curtain and see first hand how product makes it way from the warehouse to all the stores. The entertainer came with a box of MAYHEM t-shirts for the entire staff of Diamond and took the time to take photos and sign autographs. Diamond gave him a tour of the warehouse and explained how comics are ordered, shipped, and distributed. A memorable moment came when Tyrese happened upon a copy of IDW’s adaptation of the TRANSFORMERS 2: REVENGE OF THE FALLEN (which comes out tomorrow). As the staff gathered around, Tyrese flipped through the pages and gave some behind-the-scenes anecdotes to the making of the film.
Look for MAYHEM to hit the streets on August 5th and TRANSFORMERS 2 on June 26th.

It was quite a pleasure having Tyrese at our warehouse, it was great that he took the time to come down in person and pass out t-shirts, sign autographs and take photos for all the employees. Much success to Tyrese and his new book Mayhem, which myself and the entire Diamond Family not only looking forward to picking and packing it, but also reading it. Thanks again Tyrese you are truly a genuine person.
