A new generation of artists paying tribute to the legendary art, music, and scene of 1980’s New York City.

Los Angeles, CA – July 31, 2009 – Patti Astor proudly presents the return of the legendary FUN Gallery. Now it’s time for Los Angeles to have some fun! What People Magazine called, “The most famous art gallery in the world,” was the starting point of art icons Keith Haring and Jean-Michel Basquiat. The event will be hosted by Patti Astor and Meltdown Comics. Meltdown Comics has been a major focal point of all things comic book and art related for the last two decades.

The show will feature work from original FUN Gallery artists such as Kenny Scharf, John Ahearn, and graffiti legend Duro, as well as a new generation of artists including Ron English, Blaine Fontana, and more. Go back to the days of Mudd Club, CBGB’s, Talking Heads, Blondie, Ramones, The Sugarhill Gang, Run DMC, Grandmaster Flash, Buffalo Girls, punk, hip-hop, new wave, Dondi, Lady Pink. Come be a part of art history for the return of the FUN Gallery.

DJ Angelus Bailey will be rocking old school disco, soul funk, eighties dance and rap. Drinks will be provided by Asahi Beer, San Antonio Winery, and Tibetan Tea. Food will be available by the renowned Los Angeles Kogi BBQ truck.

Where: Meltdown Comics at 7522 Sunset Blvd in Hollywood
Time: 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m
