SWEET STREETS is proud to host a group exhibition by 25 female artists interpreting their favorite shōjo manga with a new twist! Shōjo is neither style nor genre, but exists in the spirit of characters like Princess Knight, Creamy Mamy, Minky Momo, and Candy Candy. “Magical Girls: Art Inspired by Shōjo Manga” unites Shibuya Girls Pop with international artists Bei Badgirl, Camilla d’errico, Junko Mizuno, Miss Kika, and Yoko d’Holbachie.

To celebrate, an opening party will take place 7:00pm – 11:00pm on Friday, April 1, 2011 with a “Magical Girls” cosplay contest, live painting by Shibuya Girls Pop, and free mini-concert by musical guests from Tokyo THE APRILS and The Lady Spade!

Friday, April 1 · 7:00pm – 11:00pm
Meltdown Comics
7522 Sunset Blvd.
Los Angeles, CA
☆ This is a free event!
Exhibition runs April 1 – April 22, 2011.
