Hey drunks and people who like to reuse Halloween costumes, Meltdown Comics is hosting the perfect event for you! Lemonade ‘Unicorn’ Steiny, a drunk and the star of the new book WHY UNICORN DRINKS (It Books/HarperCollins), is going to judge a cosplay contest at the amazing Meltdown Comics in Los Angeles. On Friday February 15th, starting at 7:00, Unicorn will judge the contest called ‘Who Looks Like They Most Need a Drink?’. Winner will receive a special prize that will more than likely involve alcohol and unicorns. Afterwards, C.W. Moss will be signing books until his pen runs dry.
Concerned your cosplay won’t impress? Life is one big costume contest and here are some ideas:
• College drunk
• Ernest Hemingway
• Every ruined family man
• John Daly
• Your favorite character from Cheers
• Donald Draper and the Mad Men cast
• Moe’s Tavern goers
• Mel Gibson
• Your uncle
• A character in a country music song
This event is free and open to the public.
C.W. Moss is the 25 year old author and illustrator of WHY UNICORN DRINKS (It Books; February 12, 2013; Paperback Original; $14.99). In DRINKS, Moss lets us laugh at Unicorn’s sadness and delight in his pain with 67 never-before-seen beautiful illustrations. From his toddler daughter’s early whorish tendencies, to the suffocating debt of student loans, to the singed loneliness that comes from having the same birthday as the popular kid, Unicorn bleeds on every page, sealing each wound with a shot of tequila. WHY UNICORN DRINKS is the sequel to UNICORN BEING A JERK (It Books; 2011).
