Tonight, at the Hilton Hotel at Universal Studios, was the 34th Annual Saturn Awards. If you don’t know about the Saturn’s, it’s the once a year awards ceremony for the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror Films.

When I saw the two of them walking towards me on the red carpet, I’ll admit I was very happy. With Comic-Con around the corner, I realized this was the perfect place to get a jump on news and info that I could share with you. Thankfully, both were willing to talk and posted below is about 10 minutes of them answering all my questions.

But the highlight was easily the smile that Zack gave me when I confronted him with what I know to be true…that the trailer for Watchmen is attached to the Dark Knight. Watch his reaction.

We also discussed the running time, how long will the DVD be, the sizzle real he showed Warner Bros., and how Nite Owl’s ship is going to be at Comic-Con!

Trust me, if you’re a fan of Watchmen or are just looking forward to Zack’s new movie…this is a must see interview.

Beginning with Issue #185 in October, SPAWN will feature a new creative team, including SPAWN creator Todd McFarlane, Image Comics co-founder Whilce Portacio and writer Brian Holguin.
  
The new creative force promises to bring an entirely new energy to the world of SPAWN.

“We’ve just been talking with everybody involved about what we can do to inspire the readers,” McFarlane says. “One of them was to take the book in a different direction in terms of the storyline, and the other was to take it in a bit of a different direction artistically, too.”

Image co-founder Whilce Portacio (Wetworks) is poised to take the book in that new artistic direction, with McFarlane serving as creative director. The two creative forces work well together, and are excited to be pooling their talents.

“Having Todd by my side is fantastic, because he gives me all the texture he’s been trying to place in his stories,” says Portacio. “As the artist, I get to say, ‘Okay, let me grab all of this stuff that’s oozing out of your head, and let me see if I could make it visually pleasing.’ For me, that is artistic bliss.”

Former SPAWN writer Brian Holguin will also be returning to the series. He and McFarlane have collaborated on the title before, and Holguin looks forward to McFarlane’s return to a much more active role in plotting the series and laying out pages.

In an interview with G4’s Attack of the Show, Incredible Hulk director Louis Leterrier dropped a few news bits about the upcoming film, including that the original Hulk, Lou Ferrigno did take him up on his offer at the New York Comic-Con to provide the voice for the Jade Giant in the film, as well as appear in a small role in the coming movie.
And perhaps what will grab comics fans attention was the revelation of an Avengers-themed Easter Egg, noting that, while Captain America’s sheild was seen (for eagle-eyed viewers) in Iron Man, Captain America himself makes a brief appearnace in The Incedible Hulk. Leterrier also said that he would love to direct a sequel to the film if this summer’s movie is successful enough to warrant one.

Addressing the Edward Norton controversy, the director said that there were disagreements between himself and Norton on the film’s first cut, in regards to what was cut. Leterrier said that it was a normal process between himself, Norton and Marvel; and that the WGA had the final say on who received screenwriting credit for the film, which resulted in Norton’s screenwriting credit being removed from the film.
