After two years of design work, Archer Prewitt’s Giant Sof’Boy has been released by Press Pop Gallery. The 24″ tall vinyl figure will be limited to a run of at least 70 pieces (they say it depends on how long the mold lasts…maybe up to 90). At over 2 feet in height, the Giant Sof’Boy will be huge. It looks like the love child of the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man and the Pillsbury Doughboy.
Fans of James Jean’s “Fables” covers may want to run right out and hit the Prada store in Beverly Hills. They’ve got his gorgeous art all over their clothes, shoes, purses, and even covering the walls.
Here’s “Trembled Blossoms,” the Prada ad that brings Jean’s work to life:
The War in Heaven is reflected in the faces of humanity. Destiny and hope lay fallow as a universal struggle for command of the higher planes of existence rages unfettered by the will of man. Angels have turned against mankind, harvesting souls to strengthen their power, upending the eternal balance and placing all creation at risk of obliteration. Will those that have been banished from Heaven’s army awaken to their true nature in time to stem the rising tide of destruction or shall the forces of flame and shadow unseam the universe and bring about the end of enlightenment?

Marjane Satrapi’s autobiographical graphic novels detail her childhood in Tehran from the overthrow of the Shah through the years of Ayatollah Khomeini’s Islamic fundamentalist regime and the Iran-Iraq war.
This gripping personal journey from childhood through adolescence, sexual awakening to an unhappy marriage has been transformed by Satrapi and co-writer-director Vincent Parranaud into a series of animated comic-book images that provide a strangely magical viewing experience, and create an emotional terrain that’s both poignant and humorous. Satrapi is encouraged by her loving parents to flee Tehran for Vienna but life there is bittersweet. Homesickness propels her to don a veil and return home. As she sits in an airport watching planes arrive and depart, we see that she will always be in a state of exile.
This beautifully animated film is based on Marjan Satrapi’s award -winning graphic novel Persepolis.
