The cast gets larger and twice as emotional as we go roundtable with returning champs Sam “the Hammer” Humphries (FRAGGLE ROCK, CBGB, Meltcast ep. 22-23), Pierluigi Cothran (NOLA, Meltcast ep. 9) and Ed Laroche (ALMIGHTY, Meltcast ep. 3). We discuss FUNRAMA: THE MUTANT PUNKS #1 (and how to win one this weekend at C2E2), PUNISHERMAX #6, FLASH #1, BRIGHTEST DAY #0, BATMAN #698, IKIGAMI :THE ULTIMATE LIMIT, SIEGE: LOKI, PHONOGRAM: THE SINGLES CLUB, X-MEN: SECOND COMING and BOOTH by C.C. Colbert and French artist Tanitoc. We also get in touch with our emotions to share which comics have made us cry (only because you asked for it), and talk a bit about the iPad Marvel App.

Meltcast 7 December 16th, 2009 « Meltcast.

Coolsvillecomics.com has launched, and the gang breaks in the new website by welcoming back Heather Harris (AKA “Baroness Heather”) from POPBUNKER.NET , and wrapping our trilogy of talking females in comics. We also kick it off by discussing David Mazzucchelli’s ASTERIOS POLYP, Grant Morrison’s run on Batman up to this point, contrasted with Paul Dini’s Batman work of the last year, as well some DC work by Brian Azzarello. We quickly hit SCALPED from Vertigo, BLACKEST NIGHT, BOOM! Studio’s NOLA by Pierluigi Cothran, and HUNTER’S FORTUNE also from BOOM! written by… some guy… who may… or may not… be named Caleb.

Aaron starts the recording without anyone realizing it as we kick off the episode with some random chatter about this week’s releases, the Kick-Ass movie trailer, Blackest Night rings, and as an aside, why does Caleb hate Amazing Spider-Man so much? The hits keep coming as we discuss PHONOGRAM by Kieron Gillen, UNDERGROUND by Jeff Parker, NOLA by Pierluigi Cothran from BOOM! Studios, the upcoming SIEGE from Marvel, and many more, before capping it off with a look at comic-fandom today, and how it compares to fans from other forms of entertainment.”
