Former Brand X editor and current LA Times feature writer Deb Vankin signs her new graphic novel “Poseurs” at Meltdown Comics.
ABOUT THE BOOK Poseurs follows three teenagers from distinctly different corners of Los Angeles who meet in the underworld of LA nightlife and Hollywood parties – and get in over their heads! From the graffiti-tagged streets of LA’s eastside to the bloated, billion dollar mansions of Bel Air, it’s a full-blown party noir!
ABOUT THE AUTHOR DEBORAH VANKIN is a staff writer for the Los Angeles Times, where she covers arts & culture, entertainment and nightlife. Prior to that, she launched — and served as Editor-in-Chief of — the LA Times’ alt weekly publications/websites, Metromix LA and Brand X. Deborah’s work has also appeared in LA Weekly, Variety and The New York Times, among many other places. Her essays and short fiction have been produced at Spoken Interludes and Word Theatre in Los Angeles. Originally from Philadelphia, POSEURS is her first foray into comics. She’s currently working on her second graphic novel.

Mindless Self Indulgence is proud to announce the release of their first Comic Book on November 10th! ‘Adventures Into Mindless Self Indulgence’ will be published by Image Comics and is filled with never before seen or heard actual stories about MSI’s true adventures awesomely drawn by our pal and awesomely cool artist, Jessica Fink.
MSI band members will be signing copies of ‘Adventures Into Mindless Self Indulgence’ along with the new CD by The Left Rights, ‘Bad Choices Mad Easy’ on Nov 11th at Meltdown Comics in Los Angeles, CA. Signing will take place from 6pm-8pm.

Jane Wiedlin, one of the world’s greatest songwriters and a deadly talent of the stage. Jane is a megafan of genre fiction and has brought her terrifying intellect and rock bonafides to bear in the creation of her new comic LADY ROBOTIKA from Image Shadowline. Jane will be signing her comic and performing a short live set in the Melt Gallery. Be sure to ask her to tell stories about the days when the Tropicana used to be a live music venue.
