The now familiar complaint at Comic-Con International is that the event has become too much about movie stars and not enough about comic-book creators. But Hollywood’s obsession with the massive San Diego expo may not be a bad thing for comic writers and artists — the relationship is, of course, reciprocal. In-demand comic-book creators are now getting “star treatment” at the convention — and not just by their loyal readers.
