For those of you mere mortals that don’t know your Heimdall from your Fandral, or the fact that “The Bard’s” bff Kenneth Branagh has been playing in an Asgardian sandbox lately, shame on you.  If you don’t know the Thunder God as the powerhouse Avenger, have no fear, for here’s a little peak of Thor’s origin story headed into theaters next year.   (Yes, the silly 80′s rocker hair aside, the guy was always pitted against Superman in all of those DC/Marvel crossover events.) Its time to do the rock theatre dance with Marz Richards of Sacred Fools Theatre Co. again! This time Marz hangs around for the whole show after we yuck it up about his theatre projects, as well as his band’s (Renfield) upcoming shows. We discuss the news of the week with the announcement of Wildstorm closing its doors, as well as DC Entertainment packing their bags for the west coast (except for everybody’s favorite publishing divsion), and then we tackle the subject of the (artificial?) speculator market  boom of late- in part due to the possible machinations of one website that shall not be named- but by the Hammer-who also reveals another episode of his secret origin by wowing us with his speculator missteps as we talk the dark side of comics buying.

We then tackle Grant Morrison and Matt Fraction’s runs on X-MEN, Chris’ preliminary pick of the year FIRE & WATER: BILL EVERETT – THE SUB-MARINER AND THE BIRTH OF MARVEL COMICS, NEMESIS #3 (Chris’ other book of the year nomination), WILDCATS 3.0 YEAR ONE collection, FANTASTIC FOUR #583, HULK #25, THOR #615, WALKING DEAD #77, and BLACK WIDOW #6, as well as Jason Aaron’s relaunched WOLVERINE #1.

Music: Dustin Kensrue – Pistol / XX – Crystalized

Aaron- WOLVERINE #1
Chris- Fire & Water: Bill Everett, The Sub-Mariner, & The Birth of Marvel Comics HC ( Fantagraphics)
