The Dork Forest with Jackie Kashian LIVE 10/20/2011
Jackie’s dork-on-dork dialog this episode is with Marc Maron (wtf). What is his “true” dorkdom? Is it scrabbling around peoples brains to figure out how they do life? Is it Japanese sneakers? We will find out. Jen Kirkman (Chelsea) will close the show with stand up comedy. Neat.

There’s nowhere you’ll want to be other than Meltdown Comics on October 8th at 7pm. Join the Comikaze Expo gang for a bitchin’ good time in support of indie creator, Joey Esposito, and the launch of his new work, Footprints. Thanks to the kind folks at Comikaze Expo, there’ll be an all-out bash with celebs, DJ’s, and random giveaways throughout the evening. Even better, it’s completely free!

Comikaze has a policy of supporting independent artists, and Joey couldn’t be happier to work with them for this party. There will be music, fun and a signing to boot. And of course, the Footprints and Meltdown/NerdMelt gang will be following up the party with a booth at Comikaze Expo from November 5-6 at the LA Convention Center. It’s only $12 a pop for tickets and kids 12 and under are absolutely FREE. When’s the last time you got into a kickass convention for that cheap?

Noir. Comics. Monsters. Adventure. Comedy. All things Footprints, and all things nerd. Join the Meltdown crew, Comikaze and Joey as they tear up the dance floor and celebrate the continued tradition of creator owned comics. If you’re not there, consider yourselves judged.

April 21st, 2011: Nerdist Sketch Night featuring Diani & Devine plus Stratton & Varney
About Diani & Devine Gabriel Diani and Etta Devine dated for five years before deciding their careers were more important than any damage working together could have on their relationship. Admiring the groundbreaking comedians of the 50′s and 60′s like Nichols and May, Bill Cosby, and Bob Newhart, they set out to create an act that was smart, funny, and (relatively) clean. They recently produced the independent film The Selling, are currently working on a new edition of “The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn” that replaces the n-word with the word “robot”, and developing the second season of their hit web series Mary Olson.

About Stratton, Varney, Nash & Young
He’s the co-host of Rolling Stone’s #2 Best Comedy Podcast, Pop My Culture, and she’s the co-host of TBS’ long-running Friday staple, Dinner and a Movie. Together they’re co-founders of SF Sketchfest, the San Francisco Comedy Festival. And along with the photoshopped images of Graham Nash and Neil Young, they are Stratton, Varney, Nash & Young. So sit back and enjoy some sketch comedy from Cole Stratton and Janet Varney. Or at least tolerate them, as it will all be over in 30-ish minutes.

April 23, 2011: Don’t Stop or We’ll Die @MeltdownComics

Come watch them play a full concert that’s equal parts badass and hilarious, with an opening act so big we can’t even mention her here. Trust me, you won’t want to miss this show. Don’t Stop or We’ll Die will have their CD, One of the Gang, available for sale, and if you’re lucky one of the guys will sign your chest.
