All that sexy talk continues as we invite Heather Harris (AKA “Baroness Heather”) from POPBUNKER.NET to delve further into sex and gender in comics . Topics include whether Amanda Conner is drawing too many (or too few) panty shots of Power Girl, except this week we have a female to balance out the testosterone, and balance is nice.

The gang also discusses new (and old) releases including more PHONOGRAM, a (whole) lot of THOR, and SWORD (all by the excellent Kieron Gillon), BLACKEST NIGHT madness from DC, GREEN LANTERN, DAYTRIPPERS by Gabrial Ba and Fabian Moon, and a brief smattering of new releases including PUNISHERMAX #2, GHOST RIDER, REALM OF KINGS: IMPERIAL GUARD and others. Aaron finally reads the wonderful first six issues of ALL-STAR SUPERMAN, and we discuss Frank Quietly and some of his past projects.

Music by Tyrese… mmh hmm bringing the sexy…

The discussion takes off as the gang talks SIEGE: THE CABAL, AKIRA, HOTEL HARBOR VIEW, the BATTLE ROYALE novel, as well as Marvel’s cosmic books. We then dovetail into a talk on sexism, portrayals of sex, and just plain sex in comics! Good Gracious! Topics include differences between male and female writers and artists when portraying sex, Power Girl’s costume, and the difficulty in capturing Wonder Woman’s essence as a character.
