Are you ready for the (end of) summer?! Captured Aural Phantasy Theater celebrates the season in its Comic Book Summer Camp. Captured Aural Phantasy players interpret nuggets of pop culture straight from the height of the Silver Age. Revel to live, dramatic readings of vintage comic book stories including one that follows that super-playa Superboy as he dates both Lana and Lois at summer camp. In between, enjoy comedic bits, music, campfire songs, art and special surprises pulled from mid-century culture including an audience participation version of a tiki classic. It’s an evening of entertainment with a capital E!

Captured Aural Phantasy Theater combines the art, drama and comedy of a vintage radio program with the live entertainment of a variety show. Shows are built around radio program-style performances of vintage comic book stories and other pop culture gems, along with live sound fx, music and projected art. Evenings also include short acts, sultry singing, prizes, and live music. This show offers a special guest appearance by the super-powered surf band “The Noble Gasses.” Get there early!

Danger Rooster Productions Presents:

The Inaugural Cookie Pie Comedy and Comic Book Variety Show

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Los Angeles, CA – October 17, 2008 – Danger Rooster Productions proudly presents The first-ever Cookie Pie Comedy and Comic Book Variety Show, The event will be hosted by Pearl-Handled Mustache.  The show will be of special interest to current students, alumni of UCB, IO, Second City, Groundlings, OTIS or any school or university. Don’t miss this exciting opportunity to showcase comedy, music, and art, or just come to watch.

Acts will include music, comedy, and improv and art will also be displayed. An interactive improv jam will end the show, and everyone is invited to participate.  Written sketches can also be brought in and performed by a wide range of actors who will be in attendance.

Come see the new wave of creative artists and performers before they explode in to stardom, or spontaneously combust.  There is no cover, yet there is a suggested donation of $5 all proceeds will go towards the next production. Spread the word, bring your friends!
