Dear Mel,

You?re the best Valentine a girl could have. You would never send me a talking stuffed animal that says I Love You. Instead, you?d send me excerpts from an American Splendor comic, neatly written on Uglydoll stationary that you made yourself. We?d walk down the street discussing the importance of the vinyl movement, to where we?d find ourselves at our favorite restaurant. And not an Italian Ristorante, or a fly-by-night hipster joint, or even a healthy Veggie alternative. Nope, it would be at our local pizzaria Mory?s. We?d be hand-in-hand while we feasted on the sesame seed crusted cheese and laugh while we ate the hot & tasty fries. No, no? get your own ketsup. Our day would end just a few steps away. The glow of the neon, the display in our sight?.. We would hug under your sign, just about to complete our night.
